FAQ
Answers
What areas do you cover?
Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, Ventura County, San Diego County and Bakersfield. See the full city list on the Locations page.
How does the free site survey work?
We come out, walk the space, and send a written quote with a fixed price. No obligation.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. ITECH2 is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor working in Southern California since 2010.
How fast can you start?
Small jobs often start within days. Larger buildouts get scheduled around your GC or move-in date.
Do you work after hours?
Yes. Evenings and weekends are normal for offices, clinics and retail.
How much does network cabling cost per drop?
It depends on distance, ceiling type and how many drops go in at once. A free site survey gives you a fixed written quote, no hourly surprises.
Cat6 or Cat6A?
Cat6 covers most offices today. We recommend Cat6A for new builds, Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points and anywhere you want 10G later without re-pulling.
Why is my Wi-Fi slow even with a new router?
Usually one consumer router is trying to cover a space built for several access points, or the uplink cabling is the bottleneck. A survey shows exactly where the gaps are.
Can you cover a warehouse or a yard?
Yes. Outdoor-rated access points and directional antennas cover yards, loading docks and parking lots.
How many cameras do I need?
Fewer, better-placed cameras beat a dozen in the wrong spots. The survey maps entrances, cash areas, lots and blind corners and we quote from that.
Can I view the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Every system we install includes secure remote viewing and alerts.
Can I remove a lost fob myself?
Yes. Modern systems let you add and remove credentials from a browser or phone in seconds.
Can access control work with my cameras?
Yes. We can tie door events to camera clips so you see who badged in.
When do I need fiber instead of copper?
Any run over 100 meters, between buildings, or where you want 10G and up. Fiber also ignores electrical interference in industrial spaces.
Single-mode or multimode?
Single-mode for distance and future speed; multimode for short in-building runs with cheaper optics. We'll recommend based on the survey.
Can you hide the cables behind the TV?
Yes. In-wall rated cable and recessed boxes keep everything hidden.
Do you do restaurant and gym TV walls?
Yes, including signal distribution so every screen shows what you want.
Do I have to sign a monitoring contract?
No. You own the system. Monitoring is optional and month-to-month through the provider you choose.
Can the alarm tie into my cameras?
Yes. An alarm event can pull up the matching camera clip.
Can residents open the gate from their phone?
Yes. Most modern intercoms let residents buzz guests in from an app.
Can you add license-plate recognition?
Yes. Approved plates open the gate without a fob.
